A guided, hands-on watercolour class focused on learning how to create loose, abstract landscapes – painted purely by imagination, without drawing, overplanning and overthinking. What makes this class different is the method and intuitive approach.
What attendees will learn:
In this class, you’ll learn how to show up to the blank page with confidence, embrace the process and let go of perfection. We’ll talk about watercolour art supplies, and I’ll teach you intuitive, simple step-by-step techniques to create your own vibrant abstract landscape paintings. No planning. No overthinking. No experience needed.

Time: 9:00 – 12:30 ( 3.5 hours)
Place: The Deckle Edge @ 13 Brickfield Road, Salt River
Workshops space limited booking essential
All materials are included in the price and provided by me;
• Brushes
• Palettes
• Water jars – 2 per person
• A3 Hardboards
• Artist tape
• A4 Primeart Cold Press Watercolour pad (10 pages per person)
• Watercolour paints – various colours (Schminke, etc.)
• A5 fine art print for each attendee worth R350
* All attendees will receive a 10% Deckle shopping coupon to use on the day.
Recommended age: All welcome from 18 years and up.
About the facilitatior:
Isabel Crause is a self-taught artist and freelance writer working from her home studio in Cape Town. She specialises in watercolour and ink, using intuitive painting techniques to create vibrant abstract landscape and botanical art that brings interior spaces to life. Isabel works mostly on original art collections and commissions for private clients. She’s passionate about inspiring people to tap into their creativity and nurture their inner artists.
