Materials Needed:
Winsor & Newton Galeria Acrylics (these particular colours are needed for mixing the correct colours in the workshop.)
White, Cadmium Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Cadmium Red, Alizarin Crimson, Yellow Ochre, Cobalt Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Black, Sap Green, Viridian green
Suggested Brushes Needed (There will be some available)
Taklon Round #0, Taklon Flat #6 and Taklon #12
Supplied by Faith:
- Prepared paper 600 x 800mm, botanical references.
Please Bring:
Apron, Paints (if choosing that option), brushes suggested and Easel if you have one.
Recommended age: All welcome from 16 years and up.
What you will learn:
Learn how to mix complementary greys for backgrounds and how to use different colours in the face to create beautiful portraits. In this fun workshop you will also learn how to be free with colour while creating vibrancy through colour theory and mixing.
About the facilitator:
Painting and teaching are Faith’s passions! Her studio, The Art House Knysna, is well-known on the Garden Route art scene and beyond. Her signature works are mainly botanicals and anything to do with nature, sometimes with a twist! She loves experimenting with techniques and colours. Faith says she can’t resist a splash of metallic paint here and there! She undertakes commissions for interior decorators and private individuals, and she participates in group exhibitions.
Faith came from a multi-talented creative family and then went on to study design and work as an illustrator for a publishing company. With this background she developed a love of fine art and painting.
