Beginners Drawing Workshop with Graphite Pencil (6 April 2024)
A guided hands-on graphite workshop focused on tones and values via the various pencil hardness & softness. You’ll learn about various paper surfaces and the effect they have on your artwork. You’ll learn basic observation of your subject as well as tones and light to make it pop.
What you will learn:
In this class you will learn the exciting and forgiving ways of graphite. We will discuss the various ways of applying it on paper, achieving tone and layering from the lightest to the deepest darks required. You will learn to lift out the lights and deepen the darks to make your piece pop. We’ll do a simple still life, then start a leopard eye and depending on time some of the fur. By the end of the workshop you will be able to complete the leopard by yourself.
