Dive into the world of Daniel Smith watercolours and learn how to capture your favorite creature using the medium.
In our “Creatures in Watercolor Workshop, we’ll explore the delicate nature of watercolors and how this can be used to capture your favorite creature-be it a pet,a person, your favorite animal, or even a fairy tale creature.
During the workshop, we’ll focus on observational techniques and embrace the delicate and fluid nature of watercolors as you render your creations. We will be working from references, and attendees are welcome to bring their own reference materials, such as photos and books, to inspire their artwork. We’ll also provide a variety of references, including the opportunity to experiment with AI image generators as inspirational tools.

- Fine art paper
- Daniel Smith watercolour paint
- Brush
- Reference materials including books, printed images and the opportunity to experiment with ai tools as references
- Each attendee will receive a 10% shopping coupon to use in store on the day of the workshop only

About the facilitatior:
My name is Chloe, nickname ‘Cleo’, and I am a visual artist and workshop instructor living and working in Cape Town, South Africa. I graduated with a BA (Fine Art) from Michaelis School of Fine Art in 2014 and completed my Masters in Visual Art through UNISA in 2021.
I have exhibited my work in various venues and galleries in Cape Town and abroad, including AVA Gallery, Youngblood Gallery, State of the Art Galley , Gallery ONE 11 and Art B Gallery, as well as Casa Petrarca, Figline Valdarno and Studio BONG in Florence, Italy, and at The Small Print Co. in London.
I regularly host cyanotype workshops, as well as other alternative photographic workshops such as Lumen, Phytogram and Polaroid Emulsion Lift workshops.
If you need to cancel your workshop booking, please let us know by 11 a.m the weekday before the workshop. To help us support the facilitator, late cancellations will not be refunded. A credit for future events could be granted at our discretion.
