Gamblin Reclaimed Earth Colours Limited Edition Oils Set
Gamblin Reclaimed Earth Colours Limited Edition Oils Set is a unique artist oil paint collection celebrating the intersection of fine art, innovation, and environmental restoration. Developed in collaboration with engineer Guy Riefler and artist John Sabraw, this limited edition set features three beautiful earth colours created from pigments reclaimed from waterways affected by iron released from abandoned mines. By transforming environmental waste into professional-quality artist pigments, this set demonstrates how creativity can contribute to a more sustainable future.
Each 37ml colour is handcrafted using Gamblin’s renowned artist oil paint formulation, offering exceptional handling, rich pigmentation, and excellent lightfastness. The set also includes a 6.5-inch primed cradled painting panel, providing everything needed to begin exploring this remarkable palette. More than 20% of proceeds from this collection support ongoing river restoration, education, and environmental initiatives, making every purchase part of a meaningful conservation effort.
Brown Ochre is naturally opaque and warm with a golden undertone. This pigment isn’t heated to the extent of the other colours, so it retains the deep yellow/brown hue of the raw iron oxide.
In its transparency, Rust Red carries the warm colour of rusty water. From the tube and in mixtures, it is exactly what you’d expect: an earthy red-orange.
Meet the first mauve colour Gamblin has ever made. Straight from the tube, Iron Violet is a deep, earthy violet with a unique texture. Add white and it becomes the violet you see in the clouds at sunset or dawn.
