A guided, hands-on watercolour class focused on learning how to create with confidence this World Watercolour Month. The theme is loose, abstract botanicals – painted purely by imagination, without drawing, overplanning and overthinking. What makes this class different is the method and intuitive approach – learning how to tap into your intuition and paint from the heart.
What attendees will learn:
In this intuitive watercolour class, you’ll learn how to show up to the blank page with confidence, embrace the process and let go of perfection. We’ll talk about watercolour art supplies, colour mixing, and I’ll teach you intuitive, simple step-by-step techniques to create your own beautiful botanical painting. No planning. No overthinking. No experience needed.
Date: Saturday, 18 November – 2023
Time: 8:30 – 12:30 ( 4 hours)
Place: The Deckle Edge @ 13 Brickfield Road, Salt River
Workshops space limited booking essential
All materials are included in the price and provided by me;
• Brushes
• Palettes
• Water jars – 2 per person
• 5 sheets of A4 Primeart Cold Pressed watercolour paper (per person)
• Watercolour paint / Primary colours & Payne’s Grey (Schmincke Horadam)
• A5 fine art print for each guest worth R350
• Entry into a lucky draw to win a watercolour starter kit (or R350 Deckle Edge voucher)
Recommended age: All welcome from 15 years and up.
About the facilitatior:
Isabel Crause is a self-taught artist and freelance writer working from her home studio in Cape Town. She specialises in watercolour and ink, using intuitive painting techniques to create vibrant abstract botanical art that brings interior spaces to life. Isabel works mostly on original art collections and commissions for private clients. She’s passionate about inspiring people to tap into their creativity and nurture their inner artists.
If you need to cancel your workshop booking, please let us know by 11 a.m the weekday before the workshop. To help us support the facilitator, late cancellations will not be refunded. A credit for future events could be granted at our discretion.
