Realistic Graphite Portraiture Workshop with Staedtler (Sat 30 November 2024)

Learn to draw a realistic human portrait with Staedtler Mars Lumograph Graphite Pencils.

What attendees will learn:

In this hands on class you will learn the exciting realistic portraiture techniques with graphite
which is a very forgiving medium covering eyes, mouths, noses, ears and of course hair. You’ll
learn how to ‘measure’ each component of the subject onto the paper then shade, blend and
lift/darken areas where necessary to complete your portrait. 

Date: Saturday, 30 Nov 2024
Time: 9:00 – 13:00 (4 hours)

  • Staedtler Mars Lumograph graphite pencils
  • Kneadable Eraser
  • Staedtler plastic Mars Eraser
  • Blending Stumps
  • Tombow Mono Eraser
  • Staedtler pencil sharpener
  • Newsprint for practice
  • Paper Towel
  • Canson 1557 160g paper
  • Each attendee will get a 10% Deckle shopping coupon to use on the day.

About the facilitatior:

Bev Barends is a self taught artist working from her home studio in Plettenberg Bay. She specialises in charcoal and graphite. Bev works mainly on commissions and teaching workshops. She’s passionate about teaching people to draw and find their unique style to start their art journey.   

If you need to cancel your workshop booking, please let us know by 11 a.m the weekday before the workshop. To help us support the facilitator, late cancellations will not be refunded. A credit for future events could be granted at our discretion.
