About the facilitator:

Sanet Visser is a passionate visual artist and printmaker who has facilitated printmaking workshops at the Rupert Museum and the Butterfly Art Project.

She holds a diploma in Visual Arts from the Ruth Prowse School of Art, where she majored in Printmaking. Her studies also included training in craft, design, fine art, photography, and event coordination.

Sanet is a proud member of The Printing Girls, a collective of female printmakers dedicated to sharing their love of the medium. She currently facilitates art classes at the Imibala Trust and De Hoop Primary School in Somerset West, where she continues to inspire creativity in young minds.

In 2004, she founded SA Art, an initiative aimed at supporting and uplifting emerging visual artists. Her work with SA Art earned her recognition as a finalist in the South African Nedbank Arts and Culture Trust Awards.

Sanet also produces her own range of eco print designs, drawing inspiration from her rural roots—she was born on a farm, and the values instilled through farming life deeply influence her practice. The endurance, patience, and hard work required in farming mirror the artistic journey she so passionately follows.

Her greatest inspiration comes from people and their personal journeys of growth—an ever-present theme in her art.
