Winsor & Newton Black Indian Ink 250ml
Winsor and Newton Drawing Inks have been used by illustrators since their introduction in the 1890’s, where the main requirement is brilliance of colour. Today they are formulated from a series of soluble dyes in a superior shellac solution. These inks can be applied with brush, dip pen or airbrush and are widely used by designers, calligraphers and artists as well as illustrators.
The Black Indian Ink is pigment based allowing the ink to have washes painted on top without bleeding. This ink can be applied with brush, or dip pen. Black ink was known as masi in India. It was only in the mid 17th century, when Europe began importing ink from India, that it became known as Indian ink.
